What is the Our Time Program?
The Our Time Program is a respite care program for families who have a child with a special need. Parents can sign up to drop off all of their children for a couple hours of play while having time for themselves.
Who is eligible to participate?
Respite care is offered to parents for their child(ren) with a special need, and his/her sibling(s) who are typically developing. All children in the family need to be 1-12 years old. A child with a special need will be defined as a child currently enrolled in an early intervention program or a special education program.
Who will be taking care of the children?
The Our Time staff consists of trained high school, college and adult volunteers who will interact with your children. Volunteers will be supervised by qualified CFCP staff.. A nurse is also available.
When does the Our Time Program take place?
Our Time takes place at various dates and times Please check the CFCP calendar for dates.
Is there a fee for Our Time?
There is a fee of $7 per hour for the first child and $2/per hour for each additional child with a limit of $11/per hour. You can pay by cash, check, or credit card. This fee can also be billed to ABC or Title 19 funds. Billing must be arranged in advance and approval given by the funding agency.
Are there other requirements needed to participate in the program?
Parents are asked to fill out a registration packet which requests detailed information about their children and other relevant information. Parents may also be requested to complete various forms, including evaluations of the program. You may download the registration packet.
