How can I become a volunteer at the Center For Creative Play?
Potential volunteers should contact 412-371-1668, ext 1012 or Laura@cfcp.org for an application package and to set up an interview/tour of the facility.
Are applications available on-line?
You can download an application and then return it when you come and meet with the volunteer coordinator.
Is there any special training or education necessary?
No! The only requirements are reliability, responsibility and punctuality as well as a desire to have fun.
Can we use our volunteer hours for School Credit?
We are happy to accommodate you and school credit is dependent on your school and their requirements. We are happy to work with you and your school to complete any necessary paperwork and/or special requirements.
What age does a volunteer have to be?
We accept volunteers as young as 12 years old at the Center. The Director of Volunteers speaks to the parents of children ages 12-15 prior to them signing up to volunteer.
Can a family volunteer together?
Yes! The entire family can come to the Center to volunteer. We can find activities that you all would love.
Do you take groups of volunteers for a one day project?
Yes, we are happy to arrange projects for corporate groups, girl scout troops, school groups, service groups, etc. Call and we will create the perfect win-win situation.
What types of activities do volunteers provide?
Volunteers will work with the Center staff in various areas. Some will work on the play floor or in one of the rooms on the play floor with different activities. Others will work directly with children during Our Time and Kids VIP™. We will have you volunteer in an area that you enjoy. Volunteers also wash toys, fix things, paint, etc.
Can I select what area of the Center I want to volunteer in?
During your personal interview and tour, we will discuss the different volunteer opportunities. We try to place all volunteers in the areas that they are most interested in.
What is the time commitment?
Each program/activity has a different time commitment that can vary from month to month. We are also open 7 days a week, so we can fit an activity into your available time.
