Center for Creative Play works with students from many educational programs to provide internship experiences that allow them to relate theory to practice in a unique community setting.
Internships...
- May be specialized to a specific assignment, course, or education program
- Are unpaid, but may count towards class credit or service learning hours
- May be as long as a year or as short as a week
- Can be arranged for the fall, summer, or spring semesters
- Help CFCP support children and families play, learn, and grow together by continuing existing programs and developing new ones
Acceptance for internships is based on...
- Availability
- The student's clear statement of a career goal or interest, and how these relate to the vision and mission of Center for Creative Play
- The student's skills and abilities to perform necessary job responsibilities
- The approval and availability of the potential Center for Creative Play supervisor
Previous Center for Creative Play Internship projects include...
- Assisting with the Our Time Respite Program
- Assisting in the development of the Sensory Art Program
- Implementation of Sensory Adventure Camp
- Creation of Sibs Play, a play group for siblings of children with disabilities
- Designing and building shelving and storage units to hold supplies
- Creation of a custom web-based point of sales system
